Spring is in the air!
With glorious daffodils and delicate snowdrops tempting us with the promise of spring, it’s no wonder we’ve been inundated with new product enquiries recently. Everyone is thinking about the classic spring clean and the epic ‘to do list’ for the first of our Bank Holiday weekends this year.
If you’ve not yet started to think about the transformation process, here are three top tips for transforming your home this season.
1 Simple changes
It’s obvious really, but if you’re looking to save a little money on your spring spruce up, then updating furniture you already have is the way forward. A simple change, such as replacing the legs on your 10-year-old sofa, can give it a new lease of life. Have a look at our Serena Detailed Furniture Legs for inspiration.

Upcycling doesn’t have to cost the earth and even the simplest of changes can transform an existing piece of furniture. How about covering your scatter cushions in a fresh new fabric or wallpapering the inside of a dresser to give it a fresh new look? Tie both these ideas in with a new colour scheme and you’re on your way to a beautiful new room for spring.

It’s also important to consider something as simple as creating a mood board before starting any project; it’s a great way to capture all your ideas and decide whether it’s going to work before you spend any money. Gather cuttings from your favourite magazine, buy tester paint pots and paint some swatches and send off for material samples from your favourite stockist… all these things will ensure your ideas will successfully translate to real life.
3 Rescue a relic
If you’ve not yet had the pleasure of browsing eBay for pre-loved furniture or rummaging through second-hand shops for some bargains, then we think you’re missing out. Our favourite places for a real bargain are auction houses and particularly reclamation yards. You will be amazed at the quality of furniture available from all eras which you can give a new lease of life with your traditional upholstery skills and transform a room with minimal effort.
